Simple Award Graphic This tutorial will hopefully show you the four short steps in creating your own base award graphic templates in PSP 7.0. First we will start by creating a new base graphic.
This is what your canvas should look like.
Next we will use the flood fill tool to paint the graphic any color, texture, or gradient fill which we desire. I used an orange and black gradient fill. The following illustration shows the gradient fill dialogue box. The gradient dialogue box icon can be found on the right hand side of the screen and resembles a paint can pouring out paint and can be located in the Tool Palette toolbar. These are the settings I used to make the sample graphic.
This is the result after the gradient flood fill has been completed.
Now we will apply a border to the graphic using the Inner Bevel command. The inner bevel icon resembles a silver picture frame and is located in the Effects toolbar. Illustrated below are the settings I used.
Your end result framed award graphic should resemble the graphic below.
Now for a little color. Altering the color can be a very simple process. Click on Colors, then click on colorize. The dialogue box shown below should pop up and you can change the whole image colors by simply adjusting the hue and saturation.
Before After As you can see, creating your own base graphics is a fairly easy process. You are only limited in what you can achieve by your imagination. The graphics created for this site were all started in a similar fashion and with the proper utilization of the fantastic tool incorporated into PSP 7.0 you can see for yourself what can be accomplished with this particular graphics program. My biggest recommendation is to read tutorials and use the programs extremely user friendly help menu. Best of luck to you in your graphical adventures. |
